What I want/what I think should happen in Season 8. Admittedly, this list is influenced by the reality of Bones being an older show and the need to stay competitive with other similar shows if it’s going to continue for a couple more seasons:

If Bones is going to make it, I think they have to be competitive with other shows and this means infusing Booth and Brennan’s relationship with some sort of intensity. This doesn’t mean they have to be unhappy or break up or cheat or anything like that, but Hart and Co. need to figure out a way to bring back the intensity between them. The family moments are wonderful, but they’re not going to carry the show for the majority of viewers. Even I miss the intensity, and I love the family moments!

Emily is an insanely beautiful woman, please style her accordingly. This doesn’t mean she has to be running around in a swimsuit, but she doesn’t have to be hidden under a thousand layers, either. She’s got a great figure — the stylists need to stop fearing it and covering it up. Show her off, damn it. This is relevant because of what comes next.

Booth and Brennan were more sweet than passionate in Season 7, IMHO, and that was fitting given everything that was going on. The viewers need to see some passion, though, and the current storyarc is perfectly suited to deliver. They are going to be separated for a significant amount of time, and their reunion is going to be intense. So, Hart, um, DELIVER IT, SHOW IT, for the love of all that is right and sexy, don’t hold back.

Booth and Brennan need to have actual conversations about their relationship. Serious conversations. Enough said.

The casefiles need to be better. I watch primarily for Booth and Brennan, but I love a good casefile. Good, solid writing will only enhance the viewing experience and help keep the show on longer, IMHO. Give us some compelling casefiles, please!

Comedy and silliness are not the same. The silliness has got to stop, IMHO. This is most notable with Sweets and Daisy. The comedic elements make the show funny, the silliness makes the show a joke.
